FCC有兩種不同的設備授權審批程序 – 認證（Certification）和供應商的符合性聲明（Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity – SDoC）。
不同的產品根據功能不同，適用于一種或多種審批程序。
認證（Certification）是*嚴格的RF設備審批流程，適用于*有可能對無線電服務造成有害干擾的產品。
它是由TCB評估責任方（例如制造商或進口商）向TCB提交的支持文檔和測試數據，從而頒發的設備授權。
TCB是指FCC認可的電信認證機構（ Telecommunication Certification Body）。
認證程序的產品測試需要在FCC認可的認可測試實驗室進行。
符合性聲明（SDoC）是要求產品質量負責人確保設備符合相應的技術標準的程序。
責任方無需向委員會或TCB提交設備授權申請即可完成符合性聲明，但是責任方或進口商（經銷商）必須根據委員會的要求提供測試報告和其他證明符合規則的信息。
SDoC是替代之前的Verification和DoC，在2018年11月2日起正式實施。
按照法規要求，需要使用認證程序批準蓄意發射設備intentional radiator (transmitter) ，使用SDoC程序批準非蓄意發射設備Unintentional radiators (digital circuitry)。
通俗的說，即是無線產品適用于申請Certification，其他的電子產品適用于SDoC。

選擇Certification程序的產品，需要確保FCC標識符（FCC Identifier）即FCC ID在產品Label上。
選擇SDoC程序的產品，可以選擇把FCC標志印在產品標簽上，印刷時需要確保比例不變；同時，應當確保合規聲明（compliance statements）在產品Label上。

These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the e is operated in a commercial environment. 2：選擇Certification認證程序的產品，E-label是可被接受的。
3：SDoC的責任方必須是美國注冊的實體。
4：SDoC適用范圍內的產品，也可以選擇使用認證程序；但認證管控范圍的產品，只能選擇認證程序。
